For a creative light projection project titled Cambodian Trees, French photographer Clément Briend has come up with a way of bringing the spirits of ancient Cambodian culture to life in the streets of modern society. Using exclusively homemade prototypes, Briend casts sculptural projections of ancestral Cambodian deities and spirits onto city trees at night and captures photographs of the enchanting results. As the light cascades over every leaf and branch, it truly looks as if the trees themselves have taken the form of the divine beings, allowing them to channel their presence through the small patches of nature that have remained throughout the urbanization of society.
