Eduardo Calzado is a fine painter/visual artist from Torreón, México who specializes in producing visceral abstract imagery. Although he has been painting all of his life, it was not until recently that Calzado began using his artwork as a way of expressing his innermost thoughts, interests and ideologies.
With his indescribable use of bright colors, geometric principles and masterful illustrative techniques, Calazado paints stunning representations of humanity’s exploration within the alternate planes of consciousness. Some of his images are conceived with a striking clarity of what it is that he wants to put down on the canvas, while others sprout from a simple feeling or notion with which he begins combining colors and forms, finding the story that he wants to tell along the way.
“My hope is that whoever sees my paintings will take something away with them, even if it´s just the spark of a memory or a feeling. And that is what great art does, it speaks to you through your emotions and changes you and the way you think and feel. I hope that I will be doing this for the rest of my life because I love to paint and the whole process of using my imagination to create fantastical imagery.” Calzado shares in his [artist statement].
