Born in Nigeria and currently based in London, Bola Ogunjobi (aka BeyondBola) is a CG generalist and 3D motion designer who alters the fabric of the universe with his mouse, creating beauty with “shape, form and down-right
Ogunjobi finds that he is largely influenced by music, delving into unexplored regions of his imagination with the aid of instrumental, cinematic and ambient sound pieces. By utilizing the knowledge received from his internal exploration, he is able to establish an indescribably powerful and abstract sense of emotion within each conceptualization. Ogunjobi has also found that SyFy movies are a big influence on his production, as the imaginative and out-of-this-world themes push his creativity beyond the boundaries of normality.
An array of elements are prominent in Ogunjobi’s work. His dynamic use of geometric properties, scale, narrative and digital wizardry flawlessly communicates his acknowledgment of the universe’s endlessness in form and possibility. “There are so many parts of the Universe we’ve yet to explore so you never really know whats out there. I always try to project that feeling/idea into my work,” he told TIMEWHEEL.
Constantly experimenting in every endeavor, Ogunjobi’s artistic exploration knows no bounds. His signature portrayal of the ever-traveling being evokes a certain sense of solidarity with the universe, forever receptive of the endless possibilities of existence. “I’ve always been fascinated by the unknown and the idea of being able to travel to another dimension, somewhere not of existence in this world and beyond our imagination,” he says. “There are so many parts of the Universe we’ve yet to explore so you never really know whats out there.”
