TIMEWHEEL’s Odyssey is the summer’s premiere destination for the ambitious and creative forces behind the SATX art scene. This annual coalescence brings to the spotlight a lineup of dynamic, cutting-edge musicians and visual artists for an immersive, narrative-driven exhibition of the visionary artistry that our old city has been cooking up.
The intention behind this gathering is to exemplify the kind of world we want to live in. Wellness, community and artistic expression are aspects of life that, at times, seem as though they are being underappreciated or taken for granted. With Odyssey, we want to create an environment that brings awareness to those who are out here creating culture and improving lives through the modalities of creation and eudemonia.
Odyssey 2019 will be spread across three nights, taking place from July 24-26. Night one will be kicking off at San Antonio’s famed Paper Tiger where a powerful bill of artists will be conjuring forth otherworldly vibes and setting the mood for what’s to come. Performances for the evening include local artists, expansions of Q, Warstories, Dolphin Dilemma and Xian, with special guest performances from Skyloom and MNDSGN. The event will also serve as a platform for networking with artists and innovators in SA’s visionary scene, as well as a hub for crafters, vendors and integrative workshops.
For night two, the party will be moving down the street to the HQ of SATX vinyl wizards, Friends of Sound Records. This portion of the festival will be free to attend and will showcase intimate live performances from the artists of local label, expansions of Q, with performances from Brando, ark, 40hands, Episode None and .jarvismbrown.
Odyssey’s closing night will be a VIP, invite-only afterparty taking place at an undisclosed location. The event will feature performances from San Antonio’s own Jonah Conrad, nicodxmvs, Maslo, Xy!o and more. For an invite and details to night three, reach out to one of the performing artists.
Join us as we welcome and celebrate these new avenues of conscious art, media and experience that are providing a glimpse into the scene’s flourishing future. The space and its offerings are constantly transforming; come, ride the wave and let us see where the flow takes us.
